Transitioning your skincare for Autumn.
Summer has been hot (always is in perth) so we are all saluting the cooler weather.
Autumn can be a great time to shift gears in your skincare routine, its actually a great time for re-evaluating a lot of things, but today we will stick to how we care for our skin.
The drop in temperature and humidity affects our skin’s condition, its really common to notice much dryer skin and for some quite irritated. . Adapting your skincare helps keep your skin stay healthy through all of the seasonal changes and we all know i love a seasonal shake up! Change is so GREAT!
Let’s dive into some ways we can transition your skincare routine this Autumn.

Understand Your Skin’s Needs
Autumn brings lower humidity levels and cooler temperatures, conditions that can lead to dry and irritated skin. As we start to cosy up indoors, heaters and air con unit /split system heating is really bad at zapping any moisture from the air, so its important to adapt to your environment and change your routine. Studies have proven that hydration can decrease by up to 50% in colder months. Start by focusing on enhancing hydration and strengthening the skin barrier.
Adjust Your Cleanser
When the weather cools down, it’s time to swap your summer cleansers for something gentler if its drying your skin out. Foaming or gel cleansers may start to leave your skin feeling parched. A cream or hydrating cleanser may be a better fit for autumn. Cleansers containing glycerin or hyaluronic acid can help retain moisture while thoroughly cleansing. a creamy cleanser with hyaluronic acid can boost moisture levels by up to 90%, leaving your skin hydrated & nourished.
Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate!
With the drop in humidity, hydration in your skincare routine becomes essential. Switching to a richer moisturiser can really improve how your skin feels (and looks)!
Here is a list of great ingrediants to enriched the skin.
Amino Acids: The absolute fundamental building blocks that help maintain the skin's hydration and elasticity.
Urea:Helps the skin's ability to retain water, think DEEP hydration.
Allantoin: Known for its soothing properties, allantoin helps to calm and protect the skin, think smoother texture.
Lactic Acid: An alpha-hydroxy acid that gently exfoliates, removing dead skin cells to reveal fresh new skin, while also attracting moisture to the skin. Lactic peels are also amazing for the skin.
Sodium Lactate: Acts as a humectant, draws moisture into the skin and maintaining optimal hydration levels.
Vitamin E : A powerful antioxidant that protects the skin from environmental stressors and free radical damage, helps with premature aging.
Glycerin: A well-known humectant that attracts water to the skin, ensuring it remains soft and supple.
Silicon Oil : Forms a protective barrier on the skin's surface, locking in moisture and providing a smooth, silky feel.
Our hydra-Vital Factor k moisturiser is ideal for Autumn.

Revamp Your Exfoliation Routine
Exfoliation is so important, i only recommend chemical exfoliation. Chemical peels are great for dry skin. .
A balanced approach ensures that your skin can shed dead skin cells without compromising hydration.
Don’t Skip Sunscreen
Even when the sun is less intense, UV rays remain strong in Autum. 80% of the sun's rays can reach your skin on overcast days, applying sunscreen should remain a daily habit.
Choose a broad-spectrum SPF of at least 30. Many moisturizers now include SPF, which seamlessly integrates sun protection into your skincare routine without adding extra steps but be sure to choose viable brands. Mother SPF. Avocado sunscreen and mesoesetics spf are great options.
Embrace Facial Oils
I dont often use many facial oils but it can feel like a good season. Some oils give great hydration and form a barrier.
Select oils packed with antioxidants, such as rosehip or jojoba oil. Rosehip oil can improve skin texture by 25% over eight weeks of use. Apply a few drops to your skin before your moisturiser. Plus it just feels good right?!
Specific Concerns
Whether you’re dealing with redness, fine lines, or increased dryness, now is the time to refocus your skincare regimen. Incorporating targeted treatments like retinol for aging skin or serums that help redness for sensitive skin. If you're uncertain about how to address your concerns, reach out to a professional who can make sure you choose products tailored to your unique needs.
Set Up a Night-time Routine
As the nights grow longer, your evening skincare routine should become more nourishing. Use this time to repair and replenish your skin from the day’s exposure to stressors.
Start with a gentle cleanse ( double cleanse) to remove makeup, then follow with your treatments. Applying a thicker night cream or hydrating mask can give your skin the nutrients it craves while you sleep, rejuvenating it by morning.
Monitor and Adjust
Your skin is dynamic and can change. Pay attention to how your skin responds as you modify your routine, and be ready to make further adjustments if needed!
Stay open minded and flexible to help you find the perfect balance. Don’t hesitate to tweak your products or techniques if something isn’t working for you.
Embrace the seasons
Transitioning your skincare routine for autumn can be really. By recognisin refreshing!
Your skin needs it, adjusting your products, and focusing on hydration will help you navigate this season with confidence.
Aim for balance and protection. Mastering and living differently in each season is fun, vibrant and refreshing.
